The Humanities Division of UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ is pleased to announce an open call for art entries for a group exhibition for artists living in Union County, NJ, set to take place at the UCNJ Art Gallery in Fall 2025. 
We are seeking art across all mediums (including, but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and installation). A maximum of two submissions per artist or art group will be accepted. A selection of pieces for the exhibition will be made based on originality, strength of the concept, technical skill and overall presentation of the artwork. The selection process aims to choose a cohesive and compelling body of work that showcases artistic talent and stimulates viewer engagement.
Selected artists will be informed through email by September 26, 2025, and must bring or deliver their work to the UCNJ Humanities Division between September 29 to October 8, 2025. The exhibition is scheduled for October 21 to November 4, 2025, at the UCNJ Art Gallery (Cranford Campus): 1033 Springfield Ave, Cranford, NJ 07016.

Copyright Policy  
Artists retain all rights, including copyright, to their artwork.  
Works must be original. No AI or reproductions of original works.  
The Humanities Division at UCNJ will feature selected works from this exhibition in a virtual gallery as well for the promotion of the exhibition. 
While all UCNJ campus buildings have a security system, UCNJ is NOT responsible for any lost or damaged items.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTWORKS SUBMITTED 
Dimensions: At least 1200 pixels on the longest side 
File size: Preferably under 5MB 
File Format: JPG or JPEG  

BIO / STATEMENT ABOUT THE WORK 
Please submit a Bio/ Artist CV, a Statement about the work submitted, and the following information about your works: (1) Artist Name (2) Name of Work, (3) medium/description of materials used and (4) dimensions (in inches) in a PDF document. The Artist Bio/CV should be no longer than 1-2 paragraphs. Statements about the work submitted should be 300 words or less. 
PRESENTATION OF THE ARTWORKS 
While framing is not required for 2D works, canvases and works on paper must be wired and ready to hang. Pastels or charcoal drawings that are not behind glass or plexi must have fixative applied. Each submitted piece of work shall include (1) Artist Name (2) Name of Work, (3) medium/description of materials used and (4) dimensions (in inches). 
SALES 
For sales, we will refer buyers to contact the artist directly. Any works sold during the exhibition will need to remain in the exhibition until the closing date of the show. The sale price must be provided during the application process and may not be subsequently changed. 
DROP OFF  
Mondays through Thursdays, from 09/29/25 to 10/08/25, 8 am to 5 pm. 
Accepted work may be delivered by yourself or someone you assign (authorization must be given in advance by sending us an e-mail with the name of the person coming on your behalf, as well as date and time of the drop off).  
Free visitor parking at the college campus.  
Visitors must show an ID upon entry to the campus and indicate to the security staff the reason for the visit. Security will be able to call the Humanities office, and a staff member will meet you at the entrance of the building.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 
Artists must be over the age of 18 and live in Union County, NJ.  
A maximum of two submissions per artist or art group will be accepted.

SUBMISSION 
Each applicant artist may submit up to two artworks by email, at: humanities@ucc.edu. Please, attach the images as JPG or PNG files and indicate your name and title/s of the artwork/s.
